dg51's vice president wrote:oh yea~ wanted to warn you, last time about the copyright issues, during the graduation event my batch was playing music (downloaded and burned) in open space and as a event. what happened was that they were already copyright people lurking in the corners.... when the time was right, they came those in charge of the event and asked us to pay for copyrights.....so... yea dangerous, my batch had to pay a sum of money...
=_= waiting for prey?...well does even movie counts? ....
Re: any ideas for fund raising??
I think if we get caught and charged for movie copyright, we have to empty bank account already.

original also they will catch~ (it was a good thing they assumed we used original cd, if not, die~!), i guess movies have a even heavier punishment, (oh ya, ask some of the people in the batch or lecturers or some famous person (if any contacts) to give some tutorials for digital painting or some sharing sessions, then charge those attending >=D

Actually, copyright is one thing. The other is the right to broadcast. Open screenings require not only the permission of the relevant companies, but the MPSJ as well. That's why this sorta thing havta do private if you ever wanna do.
I'm all up for foods though. Seems like a good idea, albeit a wee bit cliched.
Re: any ideas for fund raising??
Lol, if you all don;t like selling food because it's overdone, lets sell drinks instead.

Re: any ideas for fund raising??
ACTUALLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY, I think we should sell stuff based on what the consumers want. lah. marketing, sheesh.
FOOD is definitely out of the effing question; even if i sold food, i wouldn't even buy it. period. Maybe we could ask whut these punks want? And sell accordingly. *coughdoujins/pr0ns/gamescough*. Well, I would pay cash for stuff like those.
And I know you commission accepting people are somewhere around here. >:3 Chip in some moneh babeh! For sure I know that one art commission can cost up to USD 30. Ahem. and maybe when we print our booklets, we could include the art and their names in the contributor list?
JUST IDEAS. don't flame me kthxbai.
PERSONA 4!!!!!!!!! WRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!! k i shall shutup.

Re: any ideas for fund raising??
Their food is not interesting to let us wanna buy it only.
If we can sell sumthing special or they never try b4, and price ok. i think it can earn.

Re: any ideas for fund raising??
i think we need to think of ideas that require little work and still give us profit. We are all busy. This is our final term after all, and some of us here are working part time as well. I think someone suggested a junkyard sale if i'm not mistaken. That requires almost zero work and can earn. Its just based on donated items from us. Used things such as shirts, toys/action figures, ArtBooks etc... Just need a way to organize things so maybe one day is one category of items being sold or something like that. I'm not saying its gonna pay us the 15,000 we need but i'd say in terms of money making its definitely there.
I also asked some seniors about what made quick easy money, and alot said that caricatures are a big hit if connected with events. It attracts alot of customers, and can earn u like 20RM in like 15 minutes (depending on how much we charge per drawing).
the printing shirts idea might work as well, but will take a little more work. If you are lucky and find the right shirt design people wanna wear its all good.
I think for food, if we sell small finger foods across classrooms it works better than having a stand in the front entrance. Maybe its just me but I feel people just pass by and just look at em most of the time.

Re: any ideas for fund raising??
I actually agree with this post very much. I still remember a while back when the seniors were selling drinks from class to class; quite a number of us bought some in that time.Jose wrote:i think we need to think of ideas that require little work and still give us profit. I personally don't know how we can organize the 2nd-hand sale, but I do agree that the potential is there. *starts digging up his old shirts*
Re: any ideas for fund raising??
i'm not sure the 2nd-hand sale will work or not, but clara (our head of marketing dept) sold a lot of 2nd hand clothes on9 and earn a lot also, XD

I actually love this one Means we waste less time, and get experience that is relevant to our field. Hopefully jobs that are related to ur course. Give it maximum 7 days im sure u guys can all earn enough each to pay for more than our gallery. But yeah i don't think most people will want us to do this including the lecturer.
